Yo! We’ve made it to the end of the week, and the development of The Movie Collection is progressing nicely. I don’t want to get too far ahead of the imminent spoilers, but the next set is really shaping up to be something special. It will be exciting to see how the new cards are utilized, especially for this Regional season. At any rate, let’s usher in the weekend with a new round of reader submissions!
“I know it’s too early to say but where’s MP Yamcha?! Since set 3’s already been confirmed to have no Hero Mp’s I’m hoping Panini puts him in set 4.”
Just kidding. In recent years, Yamcha has been unfairly ridiculed (though the art on Orange Destruction isn’t helping!). Fear not – the desert bandit will certainly make an appearance as an MP at some point. In The Movie Collection, Yamcha will see some foreshadowing in the form of [REDACTED]. Come to think of it, that card should also see plenty of use with Tenshinhan and [REDACTED].
“With the announcement of Dragon Ball Super and its release just a couple months away, how will that affect the Dragon Ball Z TCG?”
-Allen S. from Arizona
We’re still working our way towards the Androids Saga, so let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. However, it’s safe to say that the announcement of the new series will end up being a very good thing for the DBZ TCG. . .
“Will the website be updated with checklists of newer sets like Heroes and Villains or Movie Collection?”
The Heroes & Villains checklist is now live at https://paniniamericadbz.wordpress.com/hv-checklist. Check it out – all of the new promos are available to view for the first time!
“Will Movie Collection be legal for all OP events, and how long after it releases is it legal?”
-Trish E. from Florida
The Movie Collection’s scheduled release date is June 29th, and new releases are tournament legal for Regional level and above events seven days after release.
That’s everything for this week, and I encourage you to write in with your questions or comments. Send a message with “MAILBAG” in the title to firstname.lastname@example.org, and feel free to use the same address for any rulings inquiries. Until next time, I’ll leave you with the question of the week:
When do you predict Yamcha will become a Main Personality?
