1. Thanks to everyone for participating in last weekend’s Launch Events, we hope they were a blast!

2. The ARG circuit continues to provide off-season action, and you can find the full schedule here. As noted in the CRD, new releases in the DBZ TCG are eligible for tournament play one week after release. Starting this Saturday, Perfection is sure to make a splash on the ARG meta! Next up: Richmond (March 5th) and Detroit (March 19th).

3. Concept of the moment: Endurance is even better than you think. When evaluating the overall usefulness of a card, don’t underestimate just how much value is added by Endurance. Though an increasing amount of decks seek to prey on prevention, Endurance is still worth its weight in gold. During your next few matches, consider how many times you draw a card (and play it) vs. how many times it is discarded as damage (or not effective when played).

4. A frequently asked question from Perfection: When can Master Roshi Level 1 be activated?

Roshi’s Defense Power can only be activated against an attack, and you must have a Setup or Drill to in your hand to activate it. You would not be able to activate the Defense Power simply to gain 2 anger.

The CRD will be updated to Perfection in the near future.

5. Card on the rise: Defiant Challenge. It has obvious synergy with Master Roshi, but many other MPs are beginning to leverage this powerful UR from Evolution. Frieza combo decks were already running it, but the addition of Overwhelming Power has added further legitimacy to the archetype as a whole. Android 18’s influence is steadily increasing (Tag Team anyone?!), and Defiant Challenge combines with Android 18’s Toss to form a ruthlessly efficient search package.

6. You may have noticed a poster for Dragon Ball Z: Vengeance in your Launch Kit. We’re still quite a while out from releasing any info, but Broly looms large!

  4. Master Roshi is definitely my favorite new MP, I’ve been playing him in Blue with Blue Training, normally wins in one big turn!

  9. Yamcha has been my go to personality since the set dropped. Vicious in orange. Hilarious in blue & black builds that abuse combat enders. He displays competence in cardboard form that was totally absent in the show.

  12. Roshi has been super fun to play. I’ve been playing him the most and already making a second deck with him. Love his defensive powers on his level 1 and 2.

  16. The perfection mp I’ve been playing the most is actually Tenshinhan. The additions of tribeam and pesky barrage have thrusted tien into elite hero energy beats decks. So far, I’ve stacked up well against everything. Thanks for bringing so much balance to the game. Keep up the good work!

  20. I’ve been leading with Yamcha a lot, actually. My goal is to try and find a fun and useful Blue Tag Team deck with my limited card pool, and while the fresh-out-the-box matches are fine, ally decks seem to somehow lose out on stages – by the time I can use allies I can’t actually use many of my own attacks.

    Reducing their cost and managing enemy anger helps a lot, as I don’t seem to have very many blue cards to change levels (besides blue dominance).

    I’ll see how it fares against actual players in a week, but for now it’s the more interesting set up in the little home matches our small group runs through.

  21. I’ve been playing Android 16 the most. Mainly because of his setup and the fact that he can force an enter on the opponent’s turn after they play a pile of setups / drills. So far, with the metagame out here being control, he’s been pretty solid.

  34. Love the set and love Tribeam, been playing Tien the most after launch but, Yamcha has been a ton of fun to troll my locals with by entering and ending combat on a whim.

    Keep up the good work fellas and I look forward to seeing how the meta develops.

  36. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten any set 5 yet (argh!), but I’ve been thinking mostly about playing Yamcha in a blue protective build.

  40. I’ve been playing a Black Perceptive hit and run Yamcha mostly. It doesn’t work quite as well as I hoped it would, but it is a lot of fun!

  42. The launch events and sealed format are a ton of fun. I have been playing Yamcha the most this set. His level 4 is ruthless!. Best moment is when I played in sealed and busted open all levels of Yamcha while using the Saiyan Empowered Mastery. I can’t wait to see Broly’s mechanics in the game!

  47. I’ve been playing Cell the most, trying to figure out where exactly to fit him in. Currently looking at Enraged and Empowered, but starting to think of him in Devious as well.

  49. Unforthnately the only personality I’ve got a full set of so far is Roshi. Haven’t gotten a box yet though so this would be a huge help. Excited to try out Yamcha though!

  50. I’m loving this Perfection set! I’ve been playing Namekian Cell non-stop since the release. I really hope we get some Cell Juniors in the next set to beef up Cells gameplay. Thank you Panini for reviving this great game!
