Tuesday Tidbits: Holiday Giveaway!

2. Slammin’ 

Trunks has made great strides since the release of Awakening, and his presence in the environment continues to increase. Trunks has a wide variety of Named cards, including the recently printed Trunks’ Knee Bash.

While Knee Bash offers versatile board removal, Trunks’ most powerful tool is arguably Trunks’ Slam. At worst, it serves as a high tempo AT +3 with +1 immediate anger (and is considered Styled for the effects of Ruthless, Rampaging, et al).

In the current environment, the ability to end combat is a powerful tactic against many top-performing decks!

However, it also carries the tremendous upside of forcing your opponent to pass. For aggressive decks, this effect is a huge boon – often acting as a free “super skip” to sequence around anti-anger effects, or a simple path out of combat (after having unloaded multiple cards from your hand). Meanwhile, more controlling decks can utilize Trunks’ slam with consistent block effects like Orange Steady Drill and Trunks – Frenzied in order to end combat at will.

  21. Trunks slam is so solid, The Acension Trunks game if it goes off right consists of your opponent just watching you play DBZ while you force them to skip and pass ending combat at your lesiure.

    Nice touch on Trunks’ Slam, as well. Loved it since it dropped in Perfection. Super strong, especially right now with combat ending being a big deal.

    There’s no way for me to play the actual Panini game while living in Europe, so I have to rely on friends from the US and simulators to actually play the game.

  31. Trunks rocks! Haha, been playing trunks since premier set whether I won or not, and boy did slam and knee bash help round out my deck. Looking forward to some more sword support too! Would love to get a DBZ mat!

  43. I love playing my Orange Retribution Cooler and Blue Resolute Android 18 decks! But please Panini, give Android 18 a new stack soon! At least a single new level like you did for Gohan, Roshi, Krillin, and Trunks. Here’s hoping!

  50. I love the Retribution Wheelo idea and definitely want to test that and improve on it.
    I’ve never been a fan of Trunks decks but one of our locals plays Retribution Trunks and it looks really consistant.
    I’m still not sold on Gohan, I can see how it could cause some decks problems but all the top decks here just obliterate it.
    Its about time we are seeing some Evo Goku Decks I always loved the idea of the deck and it has just got so much more support recently.
    Cell Can be a manster! His level 3 is pretty intense and he quickly catches up in damage and all the games I play against him in Saiyan or Namekian are generally pretty close and a lot of the time I find myself relying on DBV to seal the game.
