The NFL Five TCG is available in hobby stores now, and we’re kicking off the season with a new giveaway contest! To find out more about the world of NFL Five, you can read up on the Rulebook, play a practice game with the Demo Deck, and browse the full Checklist (with a breakdown of card rarity here).
To celebrate the game’s debut, the upgraded prize haul will be awarded to five lucky winners – each receiving two Starter Decks and a box of Booster Packs! You can enter by visiting the Panini Games Facebook page and posting your reply to the following question:
“NFL Five combines the most exciting aspects of sports cards collecting with traditional TCG gameplay. When assessing your interest in the game, do you consider yourself primarily a player, a collector, or both?”
Randomly selected contest winners will be announced on the blog next Tuesday – be sure to submit your entry before the September 17th cutoff!
Aside from collecting cards and constructing decks, you can also use unopened NFL Five product to play various Draft formats. For example, the “Sealed” format (recommended for launch events) sees each player build a legal deck from one Starter Deck and three Booster Packs. Another variant allows for Booster Packs to be selected in a traditional “pick and pass” format, with the resulting decks used for a small tournament – or even an entire season!
Today’s featured playgroup from Showcase Comic Books and Collectibles in Slidell, LA recently held their inaugural draft (with plans for a fully tracked season including Player trades), and they utilized the “snake format” in the style of fantasy football. Action/Play cards from Booster Packs were drafted in a supplemental round, along with access to up to two copies of any Starter Deck Action/Play card as needed.
