It’s difficult to choose a favorite…
Moving on to today’s previews, the Rare version of Wonder Woman (R107, depicted in promo variant above) is one of the Character cards you’ll be able to obtain at Comic Con.
Wonder Woman – Amazon Princess can thrive in combat, as she packs all three Stat types (and her generally high Ranks grant access to 16 different Battle Cards). Meanwhile, her Push effect offers a way to repeatedly clear out the sturdiest Characters in the game! This effect has applications in nearly any type of deck, as it can be used to clear defenders out of the way, pitch specific cards into your discard pile, or slow down a large offensive assault.
Wonder Woman also comes as a Cross Rare.
Wonder Woman – Princess Diana of Themyscira is a double-edged sword, and she is most effective when used in decks that contain a low count of Push effects. Her life is also in the hands of the opponent, as they can choose to activate a Push effect to KO her at any time. When constructing a deck, carefully considering these potential drawbacks will allow for maximum impact from Wonder Woman!
As a Rank 7 Character that can permanently neutralize cards like Shazam and Green Lantern, this Wonder Woman is capable of generating huge swings in tempo.
Vixen is one of the most consistent draw engines in the game – to the point where you may find yourself running out of cards in your deck if you’re not careful! This effect has synergy with a wide range of cards, including anything that requires you to discard a card as a drawback/cost (such as Wonder Woman – Amazon Princess and Black Adam). Symmetrical discard effects (see below!) are also potent with Vixen, and she provides a buffer against hand disruption effects like that of Darkseid – Ruler of Apokolips.
Whether headlined by Vixen, Ra’s al Ghul, or next week’s Darkseid – Uxas, aggro decks have an almost limitless amount of themes to pursue!
Aside from its interaction with Vixen, this Battle Card has several useful applications. Decks with elements of hand destruction may consider running this card for additional pressure, and it also has merit in builds looking to benefit from tossing specific cards into in the discard pile. At the end of the day, it also stands as a Rank 4 attack that gains +2 MP – which is a bit above average.
